Professor Gilberto Leung is the President of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine and A ssociate Dean of HKUMed. He holds the rare distinction of being fully-accredited in Neurosurgery as well as Law, and is an expert on the intersection of the medical humanities and medicine

Professor Lalita Ramakrishnan of the University of Cambridge is a microbiologist who investigates the inner workings of tuberculosis. Professor Ivan Hung is the Convener of the Expert Advisory Panel regarding COVID Immunisation for the Government of Hong Kong and is an expert on emerging infectious diseases. He played a key role in the 2003 SARS pandemic and is also the Dean of Admissions for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong.

Professor Kent-Man Chu is the President of the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong and a pioneer in the methods of minimally invasive surgery. He is known for his leading work on intracorporeal hand-sewn suture anastomosis and endoscopic methods on treating peptic ulcers and gastric tumours. Dr Innes Wan is a Honorary Clinical Associate Professor of the Department of Surgery, CUHK. His research focuses on minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgery and off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery. In addition, he is the author of "Video Atlas of Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery".

Specialist in Cardiothoracic Surgery (Part 2)

Dr Alan Sihoe is a cardiothoracic surgeon. Previously Clinical Associate Professor of the Department of Surgery at HKU and Chief of Thoracic Surgery at the HKU Shenzhen Hospital. He is an expert in minimally invasive Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS), including uniportal surgery and sublobar lung cancer resection.

Reading the History of Cancer from Genome Sequencing

Dr Jake June-Koo Lee is an oncologist who is a fellow at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. After obtaining his medical degree from the Seoul National University, he joined the Park Lab at the Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on novel anticancer therapeutics, such as the histologic transformation process that occurs during EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor treatments. His journey from the years in Korea to the present can be visualised from five of his published papers.

Curer of Child Cancer

Prof Allen Yeoh is the Head & Senior Consultant of the Division of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology at the NUH and NCIS. A paediatric oncologist, he is the first Singapore doctor to receive the American Society of Haematology Merit Award for his pioneering work in gene expression profiling in leukaemia. His research interests are pharmacogenomics and treatment-related toxicities in childhood leukemias.

  • How will the conference be conducted?
    The conference will be conducted online using Zoom. We will have physical venues in Hong Kong, Singapore and London. In Hong Kong, our locations will be at the University of Hong Kong, Prince of Wales Hospital and the MIT Innovation Node HK. In Singapore, our location will be at the Novena Campus of the Nanyang Technological University; and in London, our location will be at University College London.
  • What is the deadline for registration?
    The deadline to register for our Conference is 9 July 2023 (Sunday).
  • Will attendees receive any certificates or awards for attending the conference?
    We will award certificates to participants engaging in at least 75% of our conference events. Please reach out and let us know if you have difficulties or extenuating circumstances.
  • How will the payment process for the registration fee be conducted?
    Please refer to the instructions provided in the Registration google form for details on how to proceed with the payment process. We accept payments via PayPal, Bank Transfer, PayMe, and FPS.     Yes, you can join the conference regardless of your location, as the conference will be conducted online using the Zoom. This means that you can participate in the conference from anywhere in the world as long as you have an internet connection. We welcome attendees from all over the world and look forward to your participation in this exciting event.
  • Is there a dress code for the conference?
    The dress code for the conference is business casual.
